The forthcoming first volume of the Lee Ufan Catalogue Raisonné presents the artist’s sculptural installations, namely the Relatum series, from the late 1960s to the present. Over the past six and half decades, Lee Ufan has produced more than 860 installations, each of which is recorded in this catalogue with high-resolution photography, exhibition details, and publication history, along with historical notes and ownership information.
The entries can be browsed installation by installation, or by groupings of installations featuring the same configuration, which include recreations of seminal works initially made during the Mono-ha period. This digital catalogue offers various vantage points from which to access the information, allowing scholars, curators, and collectors to trace the chronological development of the artist’s three-dimensional oeuvre in detail for the first time.
The catalogue also includes a selection of writings by Lee Ufan concerning his sculptural practice, as well as solo and group exhibition histories and bibliographies that track the scholarship on this body of work.
Lee Ufan: Sculpture will be updated as new information about past installations comes to light and as the artist produces new installations. Future volumes on the artist’s paintings and works on paper are forthcoming.
